“DOAÇÕES DO MUSEU” O projeto Museu Bienal de Cerveira pretende ser um repositório da arte contemporânea nacional e internacional das últimas quatro décadas, reunido num espólio com mais de 700 obras, representativo da maioria dos grandes artistas portugueses e alguns estrangeiros, permitindo ao simples visitante tomar conhecimento da evolução das artes plásticas nos últimos 40 anos.
O acervo da Fundação é constituído pelas obras premiadas, por prémios de aquisição e doações. Nos últimos anos muitos são os artistas que se propõem fazer parte do acervo através da doação, contudo no entendimento da direção da Fundação as doações passarão pelo crivo de uma comissão técnica em fase de constituição. A exposição que agora é apresentada tem como fundamento dar a conhecer as últimas doações que a direção da Fundação já integrou na sua coleção. Estão neste caso artistas consagrados, como Graça Martins e Isabel de Sá, Jaime Silva, Choichi Nishikawa e António Barros que representam uma mais-valia para o acervo, mas também artistas emergentes.
Esta exposição é também um agradecimento público aos doadores e constitui uma amostra da diversidade do património à guarda do Museu.

“MUSEUM DONATIONS” The Cerveira Biennial Museum project aims to be a repository of national and international contemporary art from the last four decades, gathered in a collection of over 700 works, representative of most of the great Portuguese artists and some from abroad, allowing the average visitor to learn about the evolution of the visual arts in the last 40 years. The Foundation's collection consists of awarded works, acquisition and donation awards. In recent years, many artists have offered to donate to the collection. However, according to the Foundation's management, the donations will be subject to the scrutiny of a technical committee, which is yet to be set up. The current exhibition is presented in order to show the latest donations that the Foundation's management has already added to its collection. This is the case of renowned artists such as Graça Martins and Isabel de Sá, Jaime Silva, Choichi Nishikawa and António Barros, who represent an added value to the collection, as well as emerging artists. This exhibition is also a public recognition to the donors, thus constituting a sample of the heritage held by the Museum.

Devido a constrangimentos diversos, o processo de doação de um dos desenhos da série "Viajar" que eu produzi durante a residência artística que fiz em 2019 na Casa do Artista Jaime Isidoro não foi ainda formalizado - esse trabalho vai integrar esta exposição por proposta do Diretor Artístico, Professor Cabral Pinto, para que possa ser apreciada pelos Membros do Conselho Diretivo que virão a decidir se passará a pertencer à Fundação Bienal de Arte de Cerveira ou a integrar o acervo do Museu Bienal de Cerveira.

The Bienal de Arte de Cerveira Foundation will hold an exhibition, entitled “Museum Donations”, which will be on display at Palco das Artes in Vila Nova de Cerveira, from July 17th to August 28th, 2021.
Due to various constraints, the donation process of one of the drawings from the "Viajar" series that I produced in 2019 during my artistic residency at Casa do Artista Jaime Isidoro has not yet been formalized, however this drawing will be part of this exhibition following the request of the Artistic Director, Professor Cabral Pinto, so that it can be appreciated by the Members of the Board of Directors who will then decide whether it will become part of the Bienal de Arte de Cerveira Foundation or integrate the collection of the Bienal de Cerveira Museum.
