É com imensa satisfação que faremos a apresentação pública do Livro de Artista ‘Um Artista da Fome’ — é no próximo sábado, dia 1 de Fevereiro, às 15h30, no auditório da Biblioteca de Campo de Ourique.
Este é o 3° Livro de Artista lançado pela Miguel Castro Art Advisor, num projecto editorial em que um artista convidado escolhe um pequeno conto (o desafio é que a história tem, de alguma forma, que se relacionar com Arte); cada Livro de Artista tem a forma de uma caixa, cuja capa é desenhada pelo também artista e designer António Faria e, além do conto, tem uma obra do artista convidado e um texto introdutório do professor Miguel Meruje.
No sábado, vamos estar todos por lá, para falar sobre o projeto destes Livros de Artista — e deste em particular — para respondermos às perguntas que nos queiram colocar.
Levantando um pouco o véu, posso dizer que quando me convidaram, sem pestanejar, escolhi o conto ‘Um artista da fome’ de Franz Kafka… mas falarei das minhas razões no dia do lançamento. E foi também uma escolha minha fazer um desenho original para cada um dos exemplares deste Livro de Artista, sendo que estes desenhos têm algumas particularidades… mas disso falarei também no dia do lançamento.

I am delighted to invite you to the presentation of the Artist’s Book ‘Um Artista da Fome’ — next Saturday, February 1st, at 3:30 pm, at the Campo de Ourique Public Library.
This is the 3rd Artist's Book by Miguel Castro Art Advisor, in an editorial project in which a guest artist chooses a short story (the challenge is that the story has, in some way, to relate to Art); Each Artist's Book is in the shape of a box, with a front cover designed by fellow artist and designer António Faria and, in addition to the story, has an art work by the guest artist and an introductory text by professor Miguel Meruje.
On Saturday, we will all be there to talk about the project of these Artist Books — and this one in particular — and to answer any questions you may have....
Lifting the veil a little, I can say that when I was invited, without blinking, I chose the story ‘A Hunger Artist’ by Franz Kafka… but I will talk about my reasons on the day of the launch. And it was also my choice to make an original drawing for each of the copies of this Artist's Book, and these drawings have some particularities... but I will also talk about that on the day of launch.
